Develop Forward & Reverse
Auction Applications
Start-up Company needed to develop auction engine
with highly efficient search engine capability
to support millions of online visitors.
Problem: Greatest urgency was the time
factor
60 days
because the infrastructure
needed to be built and implemented as close to
yesterday as possible in order to capitalize on
a Beatles and other famous musicians' memorabilia
auction. Client needed a 10-man team but ended
up wasting 15-days to just recruit 2 candidates
without fully compliant skill sets. Client also
set aside a budget of $180,000.
Solution: An existing client referred Client
to us. In 3-days, our management team was able
to finalize the domain of the project. Within
10-days we were able to bring in 3 of our software
engineers from India for onsite development to
work with an additional 7 member team based in
India. Within a total of 45-days the project was
completed and live online for a total price of
$65,000. After the completion of this project,
the CTO of this Client was so impressed that he
decided to contract with us for a dedicated 6-member
team for their applications maintenance.
Bottom Line: Project was completed 15-days
early and 65% below budget.
Golf
Course Automation and Real-time Tee-time Schedules
Client needed to develop industry-specific golf
course automation software for nationwide online
public access to 100% available tee-time schedules
and management.
Problem: Initial planning exceeded 1-year.
Of $1 Million budget, this client spent in excess
of $250,000 unsuccessfully with different development
companies, over a 9-month period, to build their
golf course management grid. Client was frustrated
to the point that he began to doubt the technical
viability of project. Project had to be completed
within 7-months before running out of funds and
multiple commitments were at risk to not being
fulfilled to golf courses.
Solution:Client was referred to us via
their attorney. In 10-days, our management team
was able to finalize the specifications of the
project and select the offshore development team
in India. The first version of the grid was completed
within the first 60-days. Total project was completed
within 5 ½ months at a cost of $125,000.
One of client's prospective investors evaluated
this application and estimated its market value
at $2 Million.
Bottom Line: Project was completed 45-days
early and 87.5% below budget.
Database Migration from
MS SQL to Oracle 8i plus Optimization of Application
Client is an online transaction service company.
Client was receiving 1-2 million hits/day on their
backend SQL server database running their applications.
Problem: Users started complaining to Customer
Service that pages were loading very slowly. Client
wanted to migrate from MS SQL server to Oracle
8i as well as optimize their database and application.
Client wanted the first version of optimization
and database migration to be completed within
45-days. Client requested quotes from Oracle Corp..
and other 3rd parties: Oracle quoted around $300,000
and the 3rd parties in the neighborhood of $100,000,
each imposing a minimum of 3-months.
Solution: An existing client referred Client.
Client chose us due to their technical evaluation
of our
1) technical team; 2) timeline (60-days); and
quote ($50,000). By day-2, our team started working
with this Client. Within 1-week we submitted a
Migration & Optimization Plan for Client's
review. Upon approval, we were able to implement
this project successfully within 45-days
Bottom Line: Project was completed on time
and 50% to 83% below other quotes.
IT Staffing:
Reduce Cost by 25% to 30%
Client wanted to reduce spending of its IT department
by a minimum of 25% to 30%.
Problem: The capital-intensive requirement
of all application maintenance and production
support needed to be reduced immediately. Client
was utilizing outside consultants who were not
willing to take a 30% reduction in fees. Clients
existing overhead included a 6 to 9 member consulting
team, costing $75,000 to $100,000 per month. Client
wanted to retain 2 of the consultants only.
Solution: Existing Client. Client asked
us if there was anything we could do for them.
Within several business days we submitted a proposal
to the CTO. We proposed a 2-member onsite team
to work with our Client and a 5-member offshore
support team in India. What our Client was paying
for just two (2) of their existing Consultants
covered the cost of our entire proposal.
Bottom Line: Even with our Client retaining
(2) of their higher-cost Consultants, we were
still able to reduce Client's overhead in excess
of 50% within 1-month from start.
